Congress Leader Shashi Tharoor stands by AIB as FIR filed against Tanmay Bhat

Comedy group AIB has become a synonym to controversies. In the past, they came into trouble for the AIB roast and then its founder Tanmay Bhat found himself in big problems for making a joke on Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar.

Now recently, they have made news for the bad again as they created a funny meme on Narendra Modi.

The funny meme which had Narendra Modi using the Snapchat’s dog filter turned controversial and became the hot topic of social media after people started abusing AIB for making fun of Prime Minister. Later on, they deleted the pic but it wasn’t the end of the topic.

Things became hotter when a Twitter user Reetesh Maheshwari reported to the Mumbai Police and asked to take the legal action against the comedian. Following the tweet, Mumbai Police filed a FIR against Tanmay on the charges of defamation (IPC section 500) and publishing/ transmitting obscene material in electronic form (Section 67 of IT Act). Mumbai Police tweeted:

“An FIR (50/2017)against AIB has been registered at cyber police station in this regard after due legal consultation 1/2”

After all this happened, the famous writer and a Congress leader took a dig on the trolls and bullies by posting a pic of himself with same dog filter.

“Attn all trolls: I took the #DogFilter challenge! @AllIndiaBakchod.”

This tweet from Shashi Tharoor was hilarious and at the end all this is just to make people laugh and doing this is not easy these days. We all use these sort of filters in our lives but taking it seriously is not good at all.
